Four Ways to Incorporate Tea Into Your Daily Routine

It’s hard to resist a warm cup of Earl Grey tea on a cold afternoon, and everyone loves a refreshing glass of Iced Tea to beat the summer heat, but drinking tea doesn’t have to be an occasional treat. You might want to consider making it a regular part of your routine. After all, there are many benefits of drinking tea, from helping to soothe digestion to enhancing immune support during cold and flu season. Tea can be a nourishing, sugar-free beverage anyone can enjoy, with options for every palate. And, of course, it’s also pretty tasty. Here are four simple ways to incorporate tea into your daily life.

1. Make it your morning ritual.

When it comes to morning beverages, there's no denying that coffee is a frequent go-to. But swapping out your flat white for, say, a matcha latte using Twinings Organic Japanese Matcha is a great - an equally delicious - idea. Aside from the energy boost, it can also help you focus, hydrate and even foster a moment of calm before the busyness of the day sets in. Best of all, you won't miss the bold flavour of coffee; there are plenty of great breakfast blends that compare like Twinings English Breakfast and Twinings Irish Breakfast

2. Explore new culinary specialteas.

We all love curling up with a mug of piping hot tea on a rainy day. But that’s far from the only way to consume it! Cooking with tea has grown in popularity in recent years, and with good reason. It’s an easy way to add an array of flavors to food. You can capture notes ranging from herbal and sweet to smoky and spicy. Cooking with tea provides an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen with recipes ranging from camomile lattes to green tea infused waffles and beyond. For the perfect sweet treat, try Twinings Earl Grey Shortbread Cookies, sure to be crowd pleasers.

Teas can also be a fun base for creative mocktails that offer complexity and delight without too much sugar.  On a hot day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a glass of Twinings Iced Green Tea with Ginger, which you can combine with your favorite juice to make a fun mocktail, such as adding peach juice for a Ginger Peach Green Tea mocktail. When it’s time for a night in, look no further than Twinings Lady Grey London Fog to warm you up.

3. Transform tub time into tea time.

Few activities are as relaxing as taking a bath. But why settle for a simple soak? Instead, kick your calm up a notch and start incorporating tea into your tub time. Think of your bath as a giant cup of tea you can experience! All it takes is filling an infuser with some leaves, or even just grabbing a few loose bags, and popping them into the bath. In turn, you can boost your sense of tranquility with Twinings Pure Camomile, soak with Twinings Green Tea, reenergize with Twinings Pure Peppermint and far more.

“Bath time tea can be like a spa experience at home” shares Twinings Herbalist Bevin Clare, “With a few simple steps you can create a healthful and meaningful experience using the teas you already enjoy drinking. Simply add loose leaf tea or a couple of tea bags into a washcloth or sock and tie off with a rubber band. You can use your creation as a gentle soak or a scrub that can even be used in the shower. If you are lounging in the bath, you can drink the same type of tea for a full-body experience.”

4. Turn in with a hot cuppa in hand.

There’s perhaps no better way to end the day than with a lovely cup of tea. In addition to being delicious, it can facilitate a good night’s sleep. How so? Sitting with a cozy mug allows you to quiet your mind and enjoy a moment of reflection. Plus, plenty of teas — Twinings Sleep+ for example, contain relaxing properties such as camomile, as well 1mg of melatonin. This can help you unwind, fall asleep faster and, ultimately, wake up feeling refreshed.

“Tea can be a fun switch for your evening cocktail or glass of wine if you are looking to reduce your alcohol consumption for something more healthful,” shares Clare.

Pro tip: You’ll want to choose an herbal tea for bedtime, since they don’t contain caffeine.

Whether you want to help strengthen your mind and body or merely relax with a delightful cup, tea can play a key role in your health and wellness regimen. Fortunately with Twinings Teas, it’s easy to steep every day in a satisfying brew!
